The Music of The Pearl
The last line symbolizes that the evil, good, and greed. It tells of the song of the pearl throughout the story when it was a hopeful song,or an evil song and at the end where it's a crazy and insane song. The pearl might have been good by helping a poor family out. It might have been evil only bringing danger to Kino and his family. It also might have brought greed to Kino and his family from when the doctor poisoned Kino's child. There were many effects the pearl made on Kino's family. The pearl brought hope to Kino and Juana, as they visioned Coyotito sitting in school reading books. The pearl made Kino and Juana a living target, attacking and trying to steal the pearl. The pearl made the greedy doctor poison Coyotito and pretend to cure him for money. The pearl symbolizes the society Kino lives in because some of the people in his village are greedy or will stop at nothing for a stroke of good fortune. But the others are nice and helpful like Juan Tomas' family. They helped Kino and Juana in there time of need. In the last line, " And the music of pearl drifted to a whisper and disappeared," Kino threw away all of the thoughts, feelings, and events on what the pearl brought him.

Kyle's response was great. He told about the songs and what they meant. He told about how the pearl effected the family and much more. Kyle showed that he more than understands symbolism. The best line of Kyle's response was by far the last line of the response. I would rate Kyle a 10 out of 10 he over shot the standard by far. He was error free, gave his thoughts in an interesting way, and he came out with a great final statement.
